The idea for Rooster Fish Press arrived about a year ago. I had turned down a number of terrific books written by gay and lesbian authors. The longer I turned them down, the more the idea for starting a gay and lesbian press grew.

In October of 2004, Rooster Fish Press was born. Our mission is to spotlight and celebrate the variety of people's lives and backgrounds, while at the same time providing unknown authors with an opportunity to reach the world with their stories. In this first season we are thrilled to feature three new authors.

Indulge yourself in a contemporary romance with Flying With Angels by b.b.parker. The author explores the seemingly ordinary lives that inhabit a small east coast tourist community as well as looking into their corner of New York. The story has all the elements of romance including love lost, love found and sexuality confirmed. Flying With Angels becomes a page turner as the plot weaves back and forth through the story. Just when you are sure you know the ending, you don't.

Or develop a belly laugh with Tales From the Man in the Black Hat. Chef John Hellum draws us into numerous culinary quirks and satirical observances of a life gleaned from time spent in the restaurant business. Tales From the Man in the Black Hat allows the larger than life persona of the author to spirit us away on journeys we wouldn't have normally contemplated. He is in turns poetic and sharply acerbic as he invites you into his world.
